Field Highlights: Top Two Stars Sit Out

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and No. 2 Rory McIlroy are skipping the event to prepare for Shinnecock. That opens the door for World No. 4 Matt Fitzpatrick, who leads the PGA Tour with three wins this season (including his Zurich Classic team victory with brother Alex). Recent major champion Aaron Rai, who claimed the PGA Championship title, is also in the field.
