Nelly Korda Shows Signs of Revival in Early 2026 After Winless 2025 Campaign
World No. 2 Nelly Korda is showing promising signs of returning to her dominant form in early 2026 after enduring a winless 2025 season.
The Puzzling 2025 Campaign
Following her spectacular 2024 season with seven victories including a major, Korda failed to win a single tournament in 2025. Paradoxically, her statistical performance actually improved in many areas compared to 2024, including scoring average, SG: Off the Tee, birdie percentage, and bogey avoidance.
"It's honestly a fine line," Korda reflected in November 2025. "It comes down to sometimes one shot. It's like one putt lips out and you don't get your momentum."
Early 2026 Success Tells Different Story
Korda opened 2026 with a victory at the weather-shortened Tournament of Champions, followed by runner-up finishes at both the Founders Cup and Ford Championship. Through just 11 competitive rounds, she leads the field with 4.00 SG: Total and 5.55 SG: Tee to Green.
A Different Kind of Confidence
What's particularly noteworthy is Korda's mindset shift. Rather than feeling frustrated by near-misses as she might have in 2025, she's embracing a forward-looking perspective. "Every year is so different," she explained. "I can't even tell you similarities right now that I'm feeling what I felt two years ago."
Her caddie Jason McDede's encouragement after the Ford Championship exemplifies this new approach: "We're playing some amazing golf. It's not time to deflate, it's time to inflate."
The contrast between statistically strong but winless 2025 and the successful early 2026 perfectly illustrates golf's razor-thin margins between success and frustration.
