Bryson DeChambeau revealed at the recent LIV Golf event in South Korea that he spent a late-night session conversing with Google's Gemini AI to diagnose a persistent swing issue. Known for his hyper-analytical approach to the game, DeChambeau has now added AI as an active part of his swing troubleshooting process.

A Frustrated Night on the Range

The evening before the final round, DeChambeau was spotted on the practice range in evident frustration — unable to identify why his club was turning over more than intended. After getting no clear answers from repetition alone, he shifted the conversation to AI.

"I went back and started talking to Gemini," he explained, describing a discussion that covered alpha torque, gamma torque, grip pressure, and the role of muscular tension in passive club rotation. He was trying to understand the physics behind an unwanted movement pattern rather than brute-force his way to a fix.

Closing 65, Open Questions

Despite not fully solving the issue, DeChambeau shot a closing 65 to finish third — one shot out of the playoff. The result demonstrates his ability to compete at a high level even while mid-diagnosis on a swing flaw.

"I still don't have the answer," he acknowledged after the round.
