LIV Golf Sued by Broadcast Tech Supplier

Mobii Systems Group Ltd., a Canadian technology company, filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Miami seeking more than $1 million from LIV Golf. Mobii had powered the league's popular "Any Shot, Any Time" broadcast feature, but claims LIV Golf left $820,600 in licensing fees and $104,500 in usage fees unpaid for the 2026 season.

A Breakdown in the Business Relationship

After serving a payment demand notice on May 8—with a deadline of May 15—Mobii received an email from LIV Golf's SVP of Technology Nick Connor on May 25 stating the league would not use Mobii's technology for the remainder of the 2026 season. Connor acknowledged the payment delays had "caused strain" but argued that litigation would "not be a productive use of either of our time." Mobii responded the same day with a notice of contract termination, and is now also seeking $209,531 in lost revenue for the six remaining events of 2026.

The Bigger Picture: PIF Pulls Out

The lawsuit reflects a broader financial crisis at LIV Golf. Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund—which had poured more than $5 billion into the league—announced on April 30 that it would no longer fund the circuit. CEO Scott O'Neil is now attempting to raise $300 million to sustain operations beyond this season. LIV's next event tees off Thursday at JCB Golf and Country Club in Rocester, England.
