L.A.B. Golf Goes Big Again

L.A.B. Golf has unveiled the VZN.1i (Vision One Eye), a return to the oversized, high-forgiveness putter designs that originally established the brand's reputation. After a run of more compact releases—the OZ.1, OZ.1i HS, and LINK 2—the VZN.1i swings back toward maximum MOI and a laser focus on alignment.

Co-founder Sam Hahn described the philosophy simply: the more weight pushed out to the corners, the better the performance. Internal testing reportedly confirmed the VZN.1i is the easiest of any L.A.B. model to aim—a result Hahn attributes to the trapezoidal shape, strategic cutouts, and how the sole sits on the turf.

What Makes It Different

The defining feature is a square cutout at the rear of the head, which simultaneously reduces center mass, elevates MOI, and doubles as a ball-pickup mechanism. The sharp angles and trapezoidal silhouette create strong visual reference points, making it easier to confirm face direction at address.

Hahn noted that many golfers struggle with onset positioning and shaft lean—conditions common to low-torque designs. The VZN.1i addresses this with a redesigned sole that encourages the putter to sit square naturally, reducing the guesswork about where the face is pointing.

Steel Insert Evolution

Building on the well-received steel insert from the OZ.1i and DF3i, the VZN.1i features a deeper milled face that delivers a slightly more muted sound while maintaining a firm, fast feel off the face.
