Following Saudi Arabia's PIF decision to pull financial backing from LIV Golf, the league is in an urgent search for alternative investors. Bryson DeChambeau has taken a leading role in that push, but fellow headliner Jon Rahm wants no part of it.

Rahm's Clear-Cut Position

At his Monday press conference at LIV Golf Andalucia in Spain, Rahm stated plainly that he is not involved in any investor outreach. "I know nothing about business," he said, adding that if placed in an investor pitch meeting, he would not know "the first thing to say." His takeaway: "My job is to play golf."

Rahm also noted a practical barrier — with three children and a fourth on the way, he simply doesn't have the bandwidth to fly around attending business meetings the way DeChambeau does.

The contrast between Rahm and DeChambeau is sharp. Rahm joined LIV in 2024 and remains under contract for an undisclosed number of years. DeChambeau has been with LIV from day one and his deal expires after this season — giving him a stronger personal incentive to champion the league's survival.

DeChambeau has expressed genuine optimism: "I'm giving all I can to make it happen." Rahm, for his part, does support players like DeChambeau getting involved, calling player insight at such meetings potentially valuable.
