Former Open Champion Claims First Senior Major

Stewart Cink delivered a masterful performance at Concession Golf Club, firing a stunning 9-under 63 in the final round to capture his first senior major at the Senior PGA Championship by six strokes. The victory marks his third win of the season on PGA Tour Champions.

Decisive Turn-Around Performance

Starting the final round one shot behind, Cink quickly seized control with a remarkable stretch beginning at the seventh hole. An eagle on the par-5 seventh kickstarted his charge, followed by back-to-back birdies on the eighth and ninth holes to take the lead.

The defining moment came at the par-3 11th, where Cink drained a 35-foot birdie putt up the slope with perfect pace and read. This capped a 5-under stretch over five holes that effectively ended the competition.

Flawless Senior Tour Debut

The 2009 Open Championship winner has been nothing short of spectacular since joining the senior ranks, maintaining a perfect record of 16 consecutive rounds without shooting over par. Beyond his three victories this season, Cink has recorded one runner-up finish, with his worst result being a tie for sixth.

His final total of 19-under 269 came within one shot of Sam Snead's tournament record of 20-under, set at the 1973 Senior PGA Championship. Ben Crane finished second after closing with a 68, while overnight leader Keith Horne faltered with a double bogey on the 12th hole.
